I don’t know about you, but I have always been a big fan of peanut butter. I love peanut butter sandwiches, love to mix it in my oatmeal, even melt it down and dip banana slices in it. So, you can imagine my delight when I learned that November is National Peanut Butter Lover’s Month!

I just came across this blog post on BlissTree, and for some reason it really struck a chord with me. I’m not really sure why. Maybe it’s because I strive so much to be a positive influence to my family and friends, I have this deep fear inside me that I may actually be affecting them negatively. I really hope not. If I were ever confronted with a situation like this, I don’t think I could stand it.

Take a moment and read it. Then think to yourself, what sort of influence am I having on the important people in my life?

The Body Positive: I Accidentally Triggered My Boyfriend’s Anorexia

I just came across this great article on FitSugar about exercising alone safely. Periodically, I enjoy going outside for a run by myself. It allows me to just focus on my run, and can be a great way to refresh my mind.

I would go out to run by myself some mornings before my husband woke up. I never woke him up to tell him I was going – just figured if he were to wake up and find me not there, he would know that I was out running. I never thought about what I would do if I’d happen to get injured while I was out on my own.

Then, when my husband and I were running a race with relatives last month, my brother-in-law strained his IT band and wasn’t able to finish. Luckily, he was carrying his cell phone, so he was able to contact another relative back at the finish line and let them know what was going on. If that had happened to me in that race, I wouldn’t have had any way to contact anyone. I wasn’t carrying a cell phone; I would have just had to hobble until I found someone to help me back to the finish.

Now when I go out running by myself, I carrying my cell phone and an ID with me in one of these handy running packs. The FitSugar article also mentions carrying cash. I’ve never done that, but once I start getting deeper into my half-marathon training and am running 10+ miles, I just might.
